Home … is there a more comforting word; can anyone think of a better word to describe what peace and security feel like? I can’t.
As I sit and ponder the serenity, stillness, and outstanding view of Hill Country landscape, I am amazed, that so close to the hustle and bustle it can be this quiet.
Rio Ancho now has two builder homes started and nearing completion, with several more slated by some of the best builders in the Hill Country. Open space, fantastic views, and wild life all around. Now this is real wild life not the “Sixth Street” stuff in Austin. This morning I counted eight turkeys, at least twenty deer, hawks, eagles, and scores of rabbits in my roaming around the development. Yesterday someone caught a really nice bass in the river, I estimate about a pound and a half. I need to try my luck soon, with my grandsons. I am willing to bet though they will want to play on the play scape rather than fish. The San Gabriel is down a little, but not near what I expected with as little rain the Hill Country has seen this year. We need rain, as well as all of the the Hill Country.
The word is getting out about Rio Ancho Ranch, more and more people stop in to see the progress, and the progress is picking up steam. The power company, PEC, has been out this week trying to finish up getting power lines run underground. Should a big storm hit this area, no concerns about downed power lines here. The water well is complete, tank installed, just about ready for service. This a really nice set up.
I’ll try to get some photos posted so that you can see what is completed, and of course, the peace and quiet.
